Tea (for me) is the warm, comforting drink that has been with me as long as I can remember. When I was little and sick, my Grandma would make me a cup of tea to soothe my throat and warm my body. I had asthma (and allergies) pretty bad when I was growing up... and always, a cup of tea would calm my breathing and soothe my symptoms. I remember enjoying a cup of oolong at a Chinese restaurant with my family drinking from the 4-ounce clay tea cup, was always the highlight of a trip out, so that Oolong flavor does bring back some fond memories.
When I made my first cup of Zealong Oolong tea, I had great anticipation while steeping the leaves. I wrapped my hands around the warm mug and took the first sip... it was very subtle and seemed almost weak. It was good, but I wasn't sure it was any better than others I had tasted. I'm not sure if it was the brew time or temperature, but two days later, when I tried my second cup, that's what really made me fall in love with this tea. Memories flashing back into the forefront... warm fuzzy tea feelings from my lifetime where tea made me feel calm, soothed, and relaxed. I've had several cups since then, and it has been exceptional. Each cup it seems to taste better and better to me.
I can't tell you if you will have the same experience as I did, but you should give it a try. I'm glad I did, and now I have to order some more. Maybe I will have to try their other Oolong tea for comparison. This tasted a bit like silver needle white tea to me, the subtle flavor and delicate taste is wonderful!

I ususally like malty teas, and almost always do cream with my black tea. This tea I really enjoyed without cream and with a little sugar in the raw. Very mild, but very good.
My love affair with Zealong began on my first trip to New Zealand. I am so excited to be able to keep this tea in my pantry between my trips back to Aotearoa. Taria's customer experience embodies the warmth I have always experienced while in New Zealand.
Hi Tinamarie,
Oh, I just love this so much—thank you for sharing! I’m so glad Zealong’s Green Tea brings back such special memories from New Zealand. There really is something magical about Aotearoa, and it means the world that you feel a bit of that same warmth in your experience with us at Taria.
We’re so honored to help keep your pantry stocked with the tea you love between trips, and we’re grateful to have you as part of the Taria family. Thank you again for your kind words!
I use filtered water. The taste of this mint green tea is superb and much better than the store-bought tea I was drinking. Also, since tea leaves are fragile and absorbent, I appreciate that it is free of pesticides. Why drink green tea for your health if it’s not organic? It’s just another reason I feel good about paying a little more for Taria. Cheers to good health!
Hi Jim,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and picture—it truly made my day! I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the Ice Breaker blend. It’s one of my personal favorites too!
Your words about quality and clean sourcing capture exactly why we fell in love with Zealong and felt so passionate about bringing it to the U.S. You said it perfectly: if you’re drinking tea for your health, it should be clean and truly organic. Thank you for recognizing the difference and for being such a valued part of the Taria family.
We truly appreciate you!
Great product. Tastes wonderful. Great way to start my day
